It is not that simple. There is not necessarily less interaction by
rotating the 40m dipole. It depends on which tribander and which 40m
dipole are being used.  If the tribander elements are grounded it is
possible that the boom is resonant on 40m and depending on how the dipole
is constructed it may not be resonant on 15m.

Aligned with boom gives less interaction, but then you have to remember
that you are 90 degrees off on 40.
