You would need a pretty remote ocean front property for elevated radials.
I used a minimal amount buried in the sand from a ZF2 beach home as to not
create a trip hazard. You may loose a little efficiency but the pattern is
still awesome.

What is proven, as other DXpeditioners have documented, is that elevated
radials for a vertical close to the tide line work extremely well. Also,
Al Christman K3LC modeled this extensively in a NCJ 3 part series
published in 2005.
