It will work ... until it oxidizes and deteriorates.   Even the  
galvanization won't prevent that.
Look for large rolls of multi-conductor wire ... lots of them are  
available from many sources.   Remove the outer cover and separate the  
wires ... voila ... lots of ground wires ... will little/no  
deterioration for YEARS and YEARS.
