Hey - I have more towers than Mitch, and I didn't get a mention either...but
that's okay.

Relative to the far away from the shack discussion, I have 2 towers that are
roughly 250 and 350ft away from the shack.  I run LDF5-50A to the bases of
the towers.  Then LDF4 up to the stack matches or close to the top if none.
Then Flex LMR400 to the antennas.  I have typically less than 1 - 1.5dB loss
"all in" to the antennas.

You can see my towers as approaching the house over the trees) but you
cannot see the towers from anywhere in the house.  Its very XYL friendly -
although in my case it had nothing to do with it as my wife is a very
accommodating lady and a ham herself.  It was to take advantage of very
favorable terrain to NE - E - SE.
