##  All 3 of my BN-86s  had the enamel burnt right off of the magnet wire,
looked like charcoal.   But it took a couple of years before they bit the dust.

On 2 of em, the small ferrite rod inside was burnt and cracked.   This was
all between  1976-1979. Nice little compact balun, but it was marginal to begin
with.
