Torque has nothing to do with ability to hold an antenna in the wind or how
well a rotator will hold up. The Hy-Gain HDR-300's that I owned had plenty
of torque, but each of them required service approximately once a year. All
of the damage to them occurred while they were not being used. Amazingly
the small windshield wiper motor with plastic gears that TIC General puts in
their ring rotator turns my 250 pound H.B. interlaced 20/40m beam and other
smaller monobanders with few issues.

Torque means a lot. It's the ultimate measure of turning power and the
ability to hold an antenna in the wind.
