It proves that he spent a lot of time on the radio, either chasing spots,
checking in DX nets or tuning the band. It does not prove that a vertical
loop is better antenna than a dipole at the height or a vertical. If the
loop was 3db weaker than a vertical, you could still easily work DXCC+ on
top band (at least from W4-land).

That doesn't prove much -- it sure wouldn't get you DXCC from W6, where you
have to do a LOT farther to work countries. In about four years, I've worked
all but three states with 5W on 160, and about 18 countries. :)
