Ed,
It has been cranked down often enough. But it is not my station and it is
not trivial hand cranking down the tower with a 3-el 40M and 6-el 20M and a
6-el 6M antenna on it.
Unless hurricane season the tower stays up.

Isn't the point of a "crank up" tower to crank it up for activity and crank
it down for wind and such? It may not come down when you frantically need it
to, if its not come down in a long time.
