[TowerTalk] magic trick to make L5PDF-RPC one-piece DIN connector mate

I’ve been trying to get the L5PDF-RPC to mount on some AVA5 hardline.  It seems to not make contact with the center conductor no matter what I do.  

It’s a pretty old connector that Andrew has not made for a long time so maybe this connector is difficult by nature to get on.  Maybe the right answer is to just go out and buy a more modern connector?

Appreciate any suggestions.
