[TowerTalk] MicroDEM problems

I'd like to use HFTA to compute an appropriate tower for a new QTH, but I'm
having problems just getting GIS data into MicroDEM.  I've tried several
formats of data from the "National Map" per the instructions but MicroDEM
doesn't want to open any of the downloads.

Has anyone done this recently (ie, current MicroDEM version) who can give me
an example of a download URL that works for any US location as an example?
