Somebody else indicated the he/she seen the same phenomena it might be something with our ionosphere.

Hans,

Nothing has changed in 35 years...no new homes, no new towers or antennas, 
all utilities underground, noise level is at s-0, etc. Other directions work 
as they should. Very strange indeed since I have not heard any other local 
hams mention this; but they all have low or compromised antennas. During the 
sunspot peak, this situation did not exist.
