Subject: Re: [TowerTalk] 160m Slopers

Follow up on feeding two slopers with one feedline. It did NOT work.
Impedance way off (probably because they were close to the same length). I
cut one off and the other one worked great. I didn't even need to adjust
the length! Getting about 100 kHz bandwidth with the top at about 130' on a
150' tower.

## If you want more BW, form the top into a small loop, or coil, then short out the
loop , or coil with a spst vac relay. The loop or coil goes into the leg from hot side of
insulator to the coax connector hot side. Then zero stress on the loop or coil. Then
you end up with 2 x segments. You can also slightly overlap the segments, or have them
nose to tail, or have them at each end of the band if you want. Then no tuner required.

## IF 2 x relays are used, then use the 1st one to tap one third of the loop or coil.
Use the 2nd relay to short out the remaining 2 thirds of the loop or coil.
Ok, now you end up with 4 x segments..which surely will cover the entire band
with low swr across the entire band.

Problem solved right at the feedpoint. No tuner required, no surprises, no flashovers.
