Shorty-40 typically refers to a 40m beam with shortened elements. I noticed
that Mosley advertises their 40m beam with that name so that it probably why
your search keeps winding up there. Most manufactures make a shortened 40m
beam, it's actually more difficult find one full sized. Some use linear
loaded wire and some use coils to add inductance to the element. There are
many options depending on your budget.

I've always dreamed of having some directivity on 40 meters. I've heard
several
references to a 'shorty 40', but when I look on the web all I find is an old
Moseley design. I don't want to re-ignite the Moseley wars, but I would be
happy if someone could point me at an a 40 meter beam that might be able to
fit
on a city lot.
Thanks and 73,
