Mike's advice is sound.

I use a 2 El Cushcraft 40 that has been in continuous far since 1985.

Terrible winds here, near the Blue Ridge. I have rebuilt it twice through the years, ordering any needed replacement parts from Cushcraft, and later, MFJ. Everything fits and works.

MFJ has maintained the HyGain and Cushcraft brands very well.

The antennas are well worth refurbishing.

I was going to suggest the same. MFJ sells/owns the Cushcraft XM-240
and most of the parts are the same so I suspect you can get spare parts
from them.
