Living things conduct electricity. When they are wet it will deteriorate the Beverage performance.

You can also obtain electric fence insulators with a screw end and put them
into your trees.   I have done this with good success.    Just take them out
when and if you remove your antenna to prevent them causing a problem with a
chainsaw.
