They don't have brakes.  That is one of the advantage of Yaesu rotors over
HyGain.

They are all gear driven.

Are you sure about this? I owned two G2800-DXA's and was not aware that they
had a brake.

Do you know if the brake is engaging? And do you know if the Green Heron
controller is "aware" the G2800 has a brake?
