Yes I have used the grounding and bonding method for years on my station in Baltimore. I took a direct hit once, blew the antenna to pieces but all the grounded equipment on the single point ground was unharmed.
 I ran across the video a few weeks ago. I had never seen this porcupine system before viewing the video. Thanks for the input on it. The old school methods and the NEC are always the best rules to follow.

Those lightning porcupine things have been totally debunked, they do not do
what is claimed and are not a substitute for proper grounding and bonding
which is the real lightning protection for your equipment!
