I agree with what you’re saying Mike, however:
I can’t say how many, but my gut feeling says a lot of skilled operators are not only listening for where the DX will be next but also watching with pan adapters and such. It seems like more people are in the “right place” at the same time lately.
Thus, to me, while timing and location are foremost, having the extra power is next in line. I liked Brian’s article, it gave yet another way of explaining why having more is better.
