[TowerTalk] Quad elements no rain static.

Along these lines, I was wondering if anyone has noticed rain static on
the larger horizontal loops some use on the lower bands? I recall having
rain static (snow static) on my 80m dipole.

Although it may not matter, I'm curious if there is thought or consensus
on the source of the rain static being polarized (horizontal versus
vertical)?

Then, it could be related to the end of the elements capacitance.
I guess a Yagi with folded dipole or LFA will be fine when rain ??

Years ago I had a 10 meter dc grounded Yagi with gamma match. That antenna
did have rain static. So I feel the mention of dc ground has no bearing.
