Robb,

Compare what you have with the manufacturer's photos:

https://www.dxengineering.com/parts/hgn-ham-iv?seid=dxese1&cm_mmc=pla-google-_-shopping-_-dxese1-_-hy-gain&gclid=CjwKCAiAmO3gBRBBEiwA8d0Q4kzRc3uI4W-MU7EmFIlpAbx6xzlrFRK7VVeUOdRkaSSPY6KE7ZSi3RoCHzEQAvD_BwE

https://www.dxengineering.com/search/product-line/hy-gain-t2x-tailtwister-series-ii-rotator-and-controller-combo-kits?autoview=SKU&keyword=t2x&sortby=BestKeywordMatch&sortorder=Ascending

T2X is taller and fatter than the Ham 4. Turn them upside down and look at the bolt holes. T2X uses six 5/16"-18 bolts for mounting and the H4 uses four 1/4"-20 bolts.

Many of these have the model stamped on the bottom -- simply "H4" or "T2X", or a date of manufacturer. Before the Ham 4 there were Ham 3, Ham 2 and Ham-M types. All have the same housing size.

Similar rotors for TV antennas were the CD45 and some others. I think these used 1/4"-20 mounting bolts too.

Send me a photo if you like and I'll try to help ID.

73 and MX,
Jon

Subject: [TowerTalk] What model rotor do I have?

I bought a tower from a retired fellow who threw in two rotors without controllers and without any memory of which rotors he was giving me.

I see no model numbers or indications of a model (I.e. Tailtwister, Ham IV) on the units...Is there a way to tell a rotor’s model without tearing into it?

Please help me out?

Thanks and 73 de Robb WB2HNP
