[TowerTalk] Rohn coupling sleeves

Am I correct that the two ends are the leg diameters not the swaged 
diameters?  If so, a simple anything steel solid rod turned to the leg 
id of 1.125"  minus 0.005" clearance (1.120") and drilled for the bolts 
will join the sections.
