<Don?t fret Jeff!

<I've worked with professional tower contractors that cant assemble or get an
<N connector right.

<BUT with the newer style of Andrew/Comscope series of N connectors with the
<captive pin, it's a bit easier now for LDF4 Heliax and FSJ4 (SuperFlex) not
<for RG8/RG213/LMR-400 etc.

## This argument about the captivated pin vs non captivated pin has been going on for
decades now.

## For amateur use, why mess with Type N connectors in the 1st place. The Type N is good
up to about 12 ghz, which is the only thing going for it. 7-16 Dins are good up to 6 ghz..

## another new connector is the 4.1 - 9.5 connector. Good up to 14 ghz. Excellent pim.

## To further add to the confusion, at one time they also made a 12-32 connector..which was huge,
and no longer made.

## For amateur use, at any freq, the type N is dead last on any list. IMO, anything is better than a type N.
A type N installed on .875 or bigger heliax is a joke. BNC sized pin on a large diameter copper tube.

## Type N has gone the way of the do-do bird..along with LC connectors.
