Great switch.  If there's any kind of failure mode on this it is
probably the splines that accept the male center pin eventually losing
their grip but I have not seen that happen, so this is just
speculation.

The wonderful thing about this switch is that even if you get an old
grungy filthy example, they can be completely disassembled and cleaned
out.  All you need is brake cleaner, roll of paper towels,  and either
dielectric or conductive grease (depending on where you want to put
it) and they go back together good as new.
