I also have my 160 m. feedline laying out on the ground (LDF4-50) and
nothing has ever bothered it.   It's been out there for 10 years.  I'm
more worried about humans than I am about animals.  By the way, skunks
don't chew on anything like that.  They want berries and bugs and are
not rodents.  I have squirrels and chipmunks but they leave it alone.
However, if you want to bury it, I'd consult broadcasters.  I know
they usually have a backup line in the pipe and rope for pulling in a
replacement if needed.
