The DX Engineering specs for their RG8X coax appear to indicate that it will
handle a KW on 80 and 40.  You would probably need to make sure your SWR is
fairly low.

Is RG8 X a viable choice of coax for an  80m and 40m dipole. I am using 
an Alpha 78 ( 3CX 800A tubes). The power supply only has 2300V at 500ma 
maximum. ( typical of 40 year old amplifiers) ?
