Al,
Green Heron rotor control are akin to the Swiss Army Knife of rotor boxes.
On page 30 in the appendix A.7 Yaesu All versions. It give a detailed way to turn f it’s past the controllers “soft limit”
Mode = DEBUG
If all else fails call Jeff @ Green Heron

I have never used this combination but every Green Heron controller
that I used with my TIC rings defaulted way out of calibration. Did
it turn initially and not is stopped? I am wondering if you are
simply at a rotation stop.

I hooked up my brand new RT-21 Green Heron controller to a brand new G-2800.
On the ground thru the final cable.
The rotor will not turn and the GH controller says Error No Motion. Lots of
checks and the motor winding is open, pins 4 and 5 on the rotor itself.
Upon initial test, I had no idea where the rotor was in its range. The
RT-21 said 263 when it was turned up while being connected to the rotor. I
used the point and shoot knob and set it to about 180 deg, the end of travel
limit, I believe. While watching the rotor from 20' away, I saw it move
momentarily. It has not moved since.
Looking at the documentation, I assume that the limit switches in the
rotator are open in some way that will not allow current to the motor. Or,
that there is an internal wire failure or the filter unit PCB in the rotor
has an open.
I note that the internal potentiometer is at end of range at 500 ohms as
measured from pins 1 to 2 and 1 to 3 of the rotor. Pins 2 to 3 is
essentially a short.
I believe the RT-21 is working fine and all the cable and connectors have
been checked till I am sick of testing!
I am hoping someone has some experience with this such that I can get it
going.
