I use insulated elements (DX Engineering element brackets) and avoid  
short sections in my EZNEC models. The Yagi SWR curves basically match  
and I trust the model. Modeling is certainly quicker and better than  
the old cut and try method.  AutoEZ is a great tool for quickly  
optimizing EZNEC files.

Impossible?  then trust the model.  If you are building a beam with
insulated elements and no traps, assuming the model matches the build
otherwise, it will probably be "close enough."
