Jim, you know, I am still learning. After 38 years in ham radio, I am a beginner.
As I said, it was "a guess" after some comments heard, EHam.net, etc.

Talking about guesses...
You know Lionel's VE7BQH famous antenna table,  or the well known Rob Sherwood radio table. Perhaps... you can make a "balun table" with many balun tested. Including commercial models.
I think would be very handy for the rest of us, to know how every balun performs, and compare them.
Is that doable?

Exactly what is the basis for this statement? My statements are based on
15 years of study of common mode chokes, building and measuring
thousands of them.
