[TowerTalk] Cover antennas - the good news and the bad news

Ditto Mark,
I had a Pro-67C3 up for almost 20 years without issues, including several ice storms with 1" ice.
Very robust and it stood up to most 3-4 element yagi's in the area.
Computer modeling of mechanical and electrical designs have pushed the curve so I recently retired them.
Good news is they were easily refurbished and headed to a new tower. I bet they last another 20 years.

PS: In the 1980's my Telrex yagi's didn't last 2-3 years before wig-wagging themselves apart from our prevailing prairie winds.
That used to be the gold standard but as I found out all too quickly YMMV.

You turd :-)
I have a Classic 33 Tribander and I am still trying to figure out why
anyone would put up something bigger. It seems to work everything I
call on it, and that makes me satisfied. Maybe I should go lay in the
yard too.

The Mosley PRO series antennas are LOSERS. If you don't believe me, get a copy of our exclusive on-the-air yagi antenna test (available from championradio.com) and see for yourself. One of the PRO antennas we tested had negative gain on one band. Hard to believe the antenna's owner hasn't noticed the difference himself since they're installed in close proximity for instant comparison. Or maybe he has.??? ? Now back to regularly scheduled programming.??Cheers,Steve? ? ?K7LXC

>> Steve,
>> Thanks for sharing the info on the test results book. I hadn't seen that and I will pick one up since I have a C31XR (will likely buy a 2nd when my tower project moves forward). Along the way I acquired a NOS Pro-67 real cheap and I was thinking of putting it up on a separate tower and leaving pointed towards SA/Carib. I might still do that since I already have it, but will read those results before I decide.
