That hasn't changed much - there's three kinds of Copperweld rated in 
terms of their resistance as compared to copper, 21%, 30%, and 40%, 
which determines how thick the copper is.

I don't know that his antenna farm  was close enough to the ocean to 
have salt problems. It's about a mile from the shore (approx Portuguese 
Bend), on top of the hill at 1100 ft - he wasn't in "beach front property")
