I have overloaded cheap come a longs beyond reason, up to middle C, and never had a failure.
As mentioned in the video, the hook quality is unknown, so proof testing is a good idea...I've never broken one.
Or use some rated hooks from Tractor Supply or such.  Proof testing still  a good idea.
I've never seen one fail, but I don't really like the swaged end termination bead.
Bad swaging or serious corrosion could cause it to fail.
