Interesting - usually the discussion about solder is with stranded wire
- where it potentially causes problems because it creates stress
concentration where the solder ends.
On a solid wire - it might be like a conductive potting - it would
exclude moisture from the joint. Or would it? solder gets brittle with
temperature cycling.
