Carol,

Your first question was not clear - is it RG-11 style or hardline coax 
that you have?

If it's RG-11 braided cable you should take the suggestions and replace 
the F connectors with PL-259's. If it's solid aluminum hardline I'd 
still replace the F connectors, but you'd have to use one of the many 
DIY methods that have appeared on this reflector over the years, none of 
which is as simple as a PL259 on an RG11 cable, but not very hard either.
