It’s called field testing. 
Since you have a line with the adapter already installed, use it. If and when it fails down the road than you will have had plenty time to have made up the parts to convert the hardline over to PL259 directly.
If your antennas are reasonably matched the F connector might soldier on for years.  Nothing ventured nothing gained.
