[TowerTalk] G-800DXA rotator problem

I have a G-800DXA rotator turning a K4KIO hexbeam and a 40' mast (the
rotator turns the mast and the antenna).

When I turn the antenna via computer control, it does not go all the way
to the desired azimuth, and when it does stop the position indicators
all turn a bit counterclockwise (say 20-45 degrees worth).

I have measured the voltages coming out of the controller and found that
the fixed potentiometer (pin 1) voltage jumps up from about 5.45V to
6.0V when the rotator is engaged...so the feedback voltage is always too
high until it stops then the feedback voltage drops.

So I can explain why I see what I see, but any ideas why the fixed
voltage is jumping up and/or how to fix that?

Thanks,
