Oh, I see what you are saying. It didn't sink in before.
I was thinking that the anchor sould be placed along an imaginary line running from the top guy to your anchor point at grade. So an anchor uphill from there would be closer to the tower base, but the angle of the top guy would be identical. Yes, the angles of any lower guys will change, but to a less acute angle which is a good thing as you pointed out.

I don't see how it is possible for the angles to be the same - not mentioned, but I'm doing as I think most do, which is one anchor point per pair of guys.
I can keep the angle of the top set of guys to the tower consistent for all angles, but that would put the anchor point at different distances, depending on whether those anchors are above or below the level of the base. That's easy enough to do, but then the angle of the lower sets of guys would differ.
And that is the question - what is the most important? To keep the angle of the top set of guys consistent? Bottom set of guys? If the guys are split between two anchors per pair of guys, wouldn't the guy wires potentially cross when keeping the upper and lower angles the same?
My initial plan was to just make sure that the angle from any guy wire was not less than what it would be if I was guying at 80% on level land.
