HRO scaled back their ads years ago.  They used to have around 8 pages.  
Now 2 I think.  When the advertisers pull back it says that they are not 
getting the sales or exposure they once did or the rates were raised to 
compensate for the lost revenue streams and it just became too 
expensive.  Many of the ads for HRO and AES and others were co paid by 
brands that were in the ads.  That is why you saw a whole page of 
Kenwood or Icom etc.  The cost of those ads were being offset by the 
manufacturer.    I don't know if they still do that.  I have not worked 
at HRO for a long time now.
