I have no affiliation with these folks other than having been on their mailing list for years after using some of their products when doing home construction.  I thought it might be of interest for tower installation.

Smart Solutions for Reinforcement Alignment
Deep foundations and earth retention work require accurate alignment of rebar and rebar cages for concrete reinforcement. That’s why Simpson Strong-Tie® provides a range of field-tested solutions that structural engineers specify for commercial, industrial, highway and bridge projects. Our Quick-Lock® Pier-Wheel, Quick-Lock Pier-Boot® and Quick-Lock® Unibar® Centralizer attach in seconds to rebar and rebar cages as they are lowered into a drilled shaft. Made of durable, non-corrosive plastic, these components ensure accurate spacing within the column for structural integrity and corrosion prevention after concrete and grout are poured.

Quick-Lock® Pier Wheel

Quick-Lock Pier Wheels are designed to properly position a reinforcing steel cage in a drilled shaft with a concrete cover requirement. The wheels simply snap over the horizontal hoops of the assembled rebar cage to maintain correct spacing between the rebar and the drilled shaft. In addition, they prevent rebar exposure to moisture after the concrete is poured. The wheels also work for other applications where a concrete cover must be maintained.

Quick-Lock Pier Boot®

Quick-Lock Pier Boots are designed to support a reinforcing steel cage or single bar within a drilled shaft with a concrete cover requirement. The boots are pushed onto the lower ends of vertical bars to prevent rebar exposure to moisture at the bottom of the drilled shaft. Like the Pier Wheels, the Pier Boots are typically placed on the assembled cage as it is being lowered into the shaft. Applications include deep foundations, drilled shafts, augercast piles and bridge columns.

Quick-Lock® Unibar® Centralizer

| Quick-Lock Unibar centralizers are designed for threaded-rod, rebar and tendon alignment support. They keep the rod, bar or tendon centered in the bore hole or forming tube to allow for required concrete coverage — without interrupting the grout flow around the rebar. With two identical halves, these Unibar centralizers can be snapped into place anywhere along the reinforcement. Applications include soil stabilization jobs like embankments, tunnels, soil nails, micropiles and tiebacks. Centralizers also can be used on other projects where rebar orpipe require concrete coverage.

Rigorously tested and proven for reliability, these products are manufactured in the USA to meet the highest quality standards. Like other solutions from Simpson Strong-Tie, these rebar alignment and centralizer products are widely available for jobsite delivery and backed by our expert service and technical support. |
