Respectfully, this isn't a good test. Your HT is FM and per Wikipedia,

"FM rejects radio frequency interference<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio_frequency_interference> better than an equal power amplitude modulation (AM)<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AM_broadcasting>". You need an AM receiver to detect any noise.
