In my opinion, if the HL is so old or worn or both that you can no longer
read the stamping on the outer jacket, I would pass on it unless a direct
loss inspection can be made and also cutting backa couple of feet from each
end and inspecting the solid dielectric and the copper outer jacket.  Both
should look nice and white and the copper shiny.  I have HL that is 30 years
old and that's still what it looks like if you cut it back a couple of feet.
