I suspect he buys the wire on large spools, has some sort of winding 
machine to form the raw coils, then melts the plastic insulators onto 
the wire.

And now... I'm wondering whether it's possible that his wire might 
actually be tinned copper, and not nickle-plated?? Perhaps he's called 
it "nickle-plated" simply because words failed him when it came time to 
write the description/ad and that's what came to mind??
