Great question. A map showing frequency of lightning strikes shows 
EXTREMELY low frequency in the part of NorCal where we live, and I've 
never experienced that at home. My introduction to it was several years 
ago, during county expeditions for 7QP (Seventh Area QSO party), in a 
contesting trailer with no arrestors and no earth connection at all.
