Regarding use of the K7NV style mast clamp with the DXE rotator, the K7NV
clamp is good for a steel mast whereas the clamp with its serrated teeth
provided with the Orion is best for aluminum, i.e., soft material.
BTW I have a never used K7NV clamp (2" mast for the Orion) for sale. I
purchased it when I bought the Orion but after being educated I went back to
the original Orion clamp for my 2" OD, 1/2" wall aluminum mast. Good in QRZ
although I will be in KC4 land for the month of November. Ken K5RG

I have no experience with the Orion or DX Engineering rotator but I would
recommend using the K7NV style mast clamp with the DXE rotator. It is a
great design maximizing the contact surface area. I have never had a K7NV
clamp slip, even with 60ft boom HF antennas.

W2FU should be able to quickly answer your controller set up questions if
the RT4500HD is not included in the RT-21 manual.
