[TowerTalk] T2X remove/replace

Sometimes it can be done just by prying the mast up an inch or so with a large screwdriver or small crowbar, then lock in place with a saddle clamp on the mast just above the tower top. Then remove/replace rotor. That method requires removing the U-bolts and plate that lock the mast to the rotor. Easier, if there is enough clearance to do it, is to lift the mast so it is totally out of the rotor, then just remove the four (or six) bolts holding the rotor to the AS25G. the U-bolts and the plate stay on the rotor.
A come-along often works for lifting, or a pulley and rope going down to a capstan winch on the ground. Depending on how close the rotor is mounted to the top plate, and how much weight is on the mast, climber may need a gin pole to lift the mast from above the top of the AS25..
Also, if the rotor has the newer round connector mounted directly in the rotor it takes a bit more clearance to get it out than with the older 8-terminal strip.

 I have a 25AG top section with a Tailtwister mounted on a AS25G. The mast is 1-1/2" galvanized pipe. Can the rotor be removed sideways by raising the mast an inch or so and removing the rotor mounting bolts? It's 20 degrees F here and I don't think my tower guy wants to spend much time at 80' changing out the rotor for a spare.
