TR & Icom 706

Hi Gang -
	
	I'm relatively new to this reflector and to TR! I have a question which
I have already posed to Tree and he suggested I write this. I have an
Icom IC-706 which I would like to connect to the computer and TR. Will
TR work using the Icom Data cable? Has anyone already done this to their
satisfaction? My reason for asking in the first place is the way high
price of the cable itself! I'd hate to buy it and find out it won't do
the trick OR that there is a less expensive way to make this work. 
	Any input will be much appreciated!
