This is another message about my TR compatible, sound card voice keyer
TSR software. Roy, N8YYS, has helped a lot by testing it out, and he
tells me that he now thinks everything is working properly on his
system.

My wife, Linda, N7LR, complained about the lack of push to talk so I
added a little code so that the voice keyer software can control a
single push to talk interface, as described in the TR manual, on either
a serial or parallel port. In addition I fixed some bugs that
caused various glitches like the system locking up. Finally, I have
included code so that the soundcard hardware interrupt request line can
be greater than 7. This version takes about 24K of memory and it both
works fine in, and can unload itself from, upper memory if it is
started using the DOS loadhigh command. Running the sound card TSR in
upper memory leaves all the conventional memory for TR; on our system,
TR reports more than 190K free memory on start up with the TSR loaded
in high memory, dropping to something around 140K when the database is
first accessed. Version (0.8), source, compiled executable and
documentation, is available from

ftp://fermi.la.asu.edu/pub/sbdvp08.zip

N7LR used versions 0.4 and 0.8 in relaxed 100-150 Q efforts in the SSB
Sprint and the YL-OM contest without any problems. This version seems
to be glitch free on our computer; I have run version 0.8 with the TR
debug simulator for many runs of 1000 to 10000 Qs with no glitches.

If anyone else is brave (or foolish) enough to actually try this, please
let me know about any problems.
