You can run TR safely under Win95 by starting the computer up with F8 and
selecting the "DOS Prompt" option.

You might be able to get away with a DOS window from Win95, but it may take
some tweaking. Common problems are timing glitches in the CW, etc. If you're
planning on using the soundcard for a DVK, I'd go with the clean boot.

I've put Win95 on two computers here and one was a breeze, the other was a
nightmare, but eventually got straightened out. The one that was easy was a
pretty generic motherboard, nothing fancy in the way of peripherals, etc.
The tough one had a combination of an odd motherboard and peripherals and
drove me crazy for a while. Lots of downloading updated drivers and learning
to _never_ answer Yes to "Do you want Windows 95 to check for new hardware?"
solved that.

My advice would be don't do it the week before a big contest, just in case.
Give yourself some time to get everything settled.
