You're right, Igor.
What I found, by putting five ctl-p/ctl-f's ahead of 'test' and
five ctl-p/ctl-s's behind netted a speed increase across a half
dozen or more repeats of F1 after alt-q and/or alt-c.
Interestingly, during the incrementing, the CW speed indicator in
the window below the call entry field showed no corresponding
increase.
I went back in to F1 and removed one ctl-p/ctl-f (making the
ctl-f vs ctl-s count four and five, respectively.).
After dozens of repeats in alt-q and alt-c, I have now noticed NO
speed incrementing--it's been playing ever since I started typing
(and editing) this note.
I'm using 6.42, by the way.
