This is a result of the radio and software not communicating - maybe
due to a missed bit or something.  Hard to determine if the radio or
computer or software is at fault.  You might try turning off the 
polling during PTT which might reduce the problem if it is RF related.

I vex with this kind of problems long time. On my PC it is NON instead of BAND info.
I found certain "specialities":
* it displays always during TX from DVP only (it is not RFI - w/o power)
* in this case decimal point on PC display moves 2 digit place to left (3756.5 shows 37.5)
* command <no polling during PTT> has no effect (I think does not work)
I have IC-756 (transceive off) and PC 486
Agree that set "transceive off" solve NONSSB problem but this one not.
