Does anyone have a spare Icom radio (that shows the occasional frequency
read problem) laying around that they can loan me?  I think the only
way I am going to solve this problem is to reproduce it at home and
spend some time looking at signals with a scope and writing some test
software.

I'll cover UPS shipping.
